Frank Fanella, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Frank Fanella has been with Candlewood Valley Pediatrics since 1997. Originally from West Warwick, RI, he is a 1989 graduate of Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He is a 1993 graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. In 1996, he completed an internship and residency in Pediatrics at Schneider Children’s Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, the Long Island campus for Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He was appointed Chief Resident of Pediatrics at Schneider Children’s Hospital in 1997 and was an attending physician in the Children’s Hospital Urgent Care Center.

Dr. Fanella is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is on staff at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford as well as Nuvance Health in Danbury.

Dr. Fanella is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. He has served as Chief of Pediatrics at New Milford Hospital.

Family is central to who he is. He and his wife of more than 30 years are proud of their two successful adult children and grateful to share their home with his wife’s aging mother. In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing hockey, traveling, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.
