Dr. Kristi Beck was raised in Washington, Connecticut. She graduated from Shepaug High School in 1989 (known then as Kristi Fitzherbert). She achieved Cum Laude honors from the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in Biology. Her studies then led her to Philadelphia, where she attended Jefferson Medical College. She remained in Philadelphia and completed her pediatrics residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. She started in private practice at Atrium Pediatrics in Marlton, New Jersey while her husband completed military service. She then joined Candlewood Valley Pediatrics in August 2004.
Dr. Beck is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is on staff at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford as well as Nuvance Health in Danbury. She loves her role of teaching general pediatrics to medical students from Quinnipiac’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine. Dr. Beck enjoys caring for children of all ages and has particular interest in supporting breastfeeding, children with asthma and allergies, and obesity prevention. Dr. Beck repairs lacerations (using sutures or Dermabond) in the office. She is also dedicated to helping children in need across the globe through medical mission work.
Dr. Beck lives in New Milford with her husband, Dr. Jonathan Beck, and their two dogs. She loves traveling, especially to visit their two daughters in Clemson, SC and New York City. At home, you can find her boating on Candlewood Lake or experimenting with new recipes.
